谷根千の名店！抹茶が粉末でかかってます：根津「芋甚」

食べたのは…2003年7月
主な値段は…氷宇治金時 510円
あずきとバニラ、素朴な味の「アベックアイス」や、そのアイスを挟んだアイス最中で有名な芋甚。上野といってもちょっと北、根津にある甘味処です。喫茶コーナーではみつ豆などのいわゆる「和風甘味」も食べられて、夏はもちろんかき氷が登場します。
ここの氷はきめの細かいサラサラ系。口溶けも優しく、頭がキーンとなることもありません。
さて、ここの宇治金時も、新宿「みつばち」と同じくシロップに溶かしていない、粉末の抹茶をかけたタイプ。ただ、ここの宇治はものすご～く控えめ。ほとんど自己主張しません。一緒にかかっている砂糖も分量控えめ。普通かき氷を食べていると、シロップがどんどん氷にしみていって、あまり白い氷を食べることはありませんが、ここはなにしろ宇治が控えめなので、白い氷のエリアがたくさんあるのが特徴。
食べ終わった後に甘さでのどが渇くこともないのでした。「氷宇治ミルク」というメニューもあるんですが、これだけ控えめだと練乳に負けちゃいそうだなあ……なんて余計なお世話ですね。
抹茶に対してあずきはさすがの存在感。ここのあずきアイスと同じ、さっぱりとした甘さが好印象です。
ここ「氷牛乳」っていうのがあって、それがまたおいしいのですが…それはまた、別の機会に。「下町の甘味処」らしいおいしいかき氷。近くを通りかかったら是非どうぞ。
